Switching · Fiber Ports
An SFP switch trades fixed copper ports for pluggable fiber optics — choose the module, choose the reach. ONV builds SFP and SFP+ ports through every layer of its range.

'SFP switch' describes a port strategy, not a product class: switches whose fiber connectivity comes from pluggable SFP (1G) or SFP+ (10G) modules, so the same switch serves a 550-metre multimode riser or a 40-kilometre single-mode haul by swapping a module the size of a lighter. In the ONV catalogue, SFP ports appear as the uplinks of managed PoE switches, the backbone ports of industrial switches, the access ports of the all-fiber core — and, in miniature, as the fiber side of every media converter.
The buying logic is reach plus flexibility: fixed optical ports lock you into one fiber type and wavelength for the switch's life; SFP cages let the hardware outlive the fiber plant. The table gathers the fiber-forward models across the lines; the featured core switch is the strategy at its purest.

Count fiber ports by role: uplinks (1–4 SFP+ on access/aggregation models), aggregation-to-core links, and all-fiber designs where access itself is optical (long campuses, noisy plants, secure facilities). Then standardise modules ruthlessly — one multimode and one single-mode type across the estate — so spares are simple. Media converters remain the cheaper answer for a single copper-to-fiber hop; SFP switching wins wherever fiber is a pattern, not an exception.
Campus backbones, industrial rings, secure and high-noise facilities, data rooms and any estate where fiber is the default medium.
If the port is an uplink or aggregation point, SFP+ buys the headroom even if today's module is 1G (cages accept SFP modules). For a fixed access fiber port that will never aggregate, SFP is enough.
Module inclusion is confirmed per model and order — state your fiber type and distances in the inquiry and the quotation will list the exact modules fitted.
Send your port count, per-port power and uplink requirements — we reply with the exact models, datasheets and a quotation. MOQ and lead time are confirmed per model and order scope in the quotation.
