PoE Switch · 802.3bt
IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++) delivers up to 90W per port over all four pairs — for the devices PoE+ cannot feed: large PTZ domes, high-power access points, displays and intelligent lighting.

Some powered devices simply outgrew 30W: a large PTZ dome with a heater and blower, a Wi-Fi 6E access point with three radios, a digital-signage player with a bright panel, a PoE-powered LED luminaire. IEEE 802.3bt answers with Type 3 (60W) and Type 4 (90W) delivery over all four pairs of the cable, with backward compatibility to af/at devices negotiated per port.
ONV's bt models sit in both the standard and industrial PoE lines — gigabit bt switches at the access layer and L3 managed industrial bt models where high-power devices live outdoors. The featured model's datasheet states the headline plainly: max power per port 90W, IEEE 802.3 af/at/bt, with power delivered on both pair sets (1/2, 3/6 and 4/5, 7/8).

Specify bt only where a device needs it — bt ports and their power supplies cost more than at ports, and most cameras will never draw past 15W. The common pattern is a bt access switch on the PTZ/signage segment and standard PoE+ elsewhere. Check the powered device's required bt Type and class in its datasheet, and confirm the switch's total budget can hold the sum of the high-power loads simultaneously — a rack of 90W devices is a serious power supply.
High-power PTZ and multi-sensor cameras, Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points, digital signage and media players, PoE LED lighting, video-conferencing endpoints and powered USB-C docks via bt splitters.
Yes. A bt port negotiates with each device and delivers af or at power where that is all the device requests. Mixed loads are the normal case.
bt uses standard Ethernet cabling, but at Type 4 power levels cable bundle heating matters: Cat6A and sensible bundle sizes are recommended for long or dense runs, per the standard's guidance.
